Our chickens are naturally raised on pasture and are fed a high-quality non-genetically modified, non-soy feed. Our birds are allowed to run around, get fresh sunshine, and eat bugs and grass which gives them a tasty flavor and nutrient density unique to pastured birds. They are processed at a small family farm facility that uses no chemicals in the processing to ensure clean, healthy birds.
Our flock of Rhode Island Reds, Australorps, and Barred Rocks produce wonderful, large brown eggs. Our chickens are fed a Non-gmo Non-soy feed as well as table scraps and garden extras. They range on pasture inside a large area of electric netting. This diet gives us eggs with rich nutrient-dense orange yolks that produce fluffier omelets and baked goods than conventional eggs. They are housed in mobile chicken coops on skids that give them a safe place to lay eggs and roost at night. We move them about once a week as needed to new pasture when they have eaten most of the insects and grass.
Pasture Raised Turkey
Our turkeys are broad-breasted varieties with the large breasts for extra white meat. They are raised like our chickens in hutches with pasture access. They are fed our non-gmo and non-soy feed. They are available seasonally for Thanksgiving and Christmas. They are available by reservation. They will average 10-12 lbs each and come with giblets inside.
Our Katadhin X ewes are a specific meat breed. They provide wonderfully tender, well fleshed lambs for processing. They are a hair sheep which means that instead of shearing, they shed their winter coats and are very low maintenance. They are fed grass and supplemented with alfalfa during winter and lambing season for a grass based diet.
Our cattle are grassfed on our organically managed pastures using rotational grazing to ensure good quality and well marbled meat. We use a Murray Grey bull on our crossbreed cows to utilize genetics known for marbling and being very tender on grass-based diets. Calves are kept with their mothers until at least 8 months of age and are handled with care to ensure no stress.
Pasture Raised Pork
Our Red Wattle Pork is a heritage breed that is raised on pasture in electric netting. They are allowed to express natural pig behaviors by rooting and wallowing and are an "Ark of Taste" breed known for great flavor! They are supplemented with a non-gmo and non-soy feed mix and allowed to have all the grass they can eat. Our "pig power" helps aerate our soil and till our garden. We use know nitrates, fillers, or preservatives in our curing our sausages, just 100% all natural pork.
